Commissioner Ayo Adediran is passionate about civic participation and believes in harnessing the power of diversity to bring positive changes. He served on various community associations in Saskatoon, Grand Forks and Fort McMurray before coming to Calgary.
In his professional life, Commissioner Adediran joined Shell Oil Company in 2008. He is currently the Global Subject Matter Expert and Technical Lead for the deployment of unmanned aerial systems and other Earth observation technologies.
He specializes in technology that enhances safety, enables digitization, and reduces carbon footprints. His work supports the entire oil and gas life cycle including emergency response, environmental monitoring, nature based solutions and situational awareness.
Prior to joining Shell, Commissioner Adediran tutored at the University of Saskatchewan and Selkirk College, and worked as a Geospatial Data Specialist at Interfor Corporation in British Columbia.
Commissioner Adediran also brings some firsthand familiarity with the Calgary Police Service from being an active volunteer in the past. He won the 2014 Calgary Police Service Volunteer Recognition Award and was recognized by the Calgary Police Foundation in 2019 for his unwavering contributions.
In addition to the Calgary Police Commission, he also serves on the Council of the College of Alberta Dental Assistants and sits on the board of the North America Geological Remote Sensing Society.
Commissioner Adediran is a certified geographic information systems (GIS) professional and he holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management and Remote Sensing.
Commissioner Adediran has been a member of the Commission since April 2023.
