Commission Lifetime Achievement Awards

CPC intro image

Our Commission values the contributions of Calgarians and Calgary Police Service members.

To help recognize those who have made exceptional contributions to policing in our community, we have two lifetime achievement awards that we accept nominations for each fall.

Lifetime Achievement in Community Policing

The Lifetime Achievement in Community Policing Award is presented to up to one community member each year that has made a sustained and exceptional contribution to the ideals of community policing in Calgary. Nominees do not have to live in Calgary, but they must be active in the Calgary community.

  • Exceptionally contributed to lasting positive change in policing through research, innovation, community building, partnership, mentorship, training and/or leadership;
  • Shown a commitment to serving the community and improving community policing through volunteer work and/or professional achievements; and
  • Adhered to the highest ethical standards and reflected the Calgary Police Service’s values (respect, honesty, compassion, courage, fairness, accountability and integrity).

Previous Recipients

Our Commission started presenting lifetime achievement awards in 2023 and we only present up to two each year.

Read the names and accomplishments of past winners to find out who has been recognized in previous years.

Other Similar Awards

Our Commission previously recognized community members and employees of the Calgary Police Service through the Community Policing Awards. Many of the previous award categories now overlap with awards offered by other organizations, so they have been discontinued.

If you have someone you hoped to nominate for a Community Policing Award, they are likely still eligible for one of these awards:
