Commission Chair Amtul Siddiqui has been a strong advocate for diversity, social connections and key partnerships in the not-for-profit world and in the communities she has lived in for the past 20 years.
She has championed causes close to her heart through positions as the Senior Development Officer for the Calgary Health Foundation, the Senior Manager of Advancement at Vivo, and the Associate Director of Corporate Giving with the Canadian Red Cross, where she was the national fundraising lead for the 2016 Alberta wildfires and the 2013 Alberta floods.
Chair Siddiqui is currently the Executive Director of the Bethany Care Foundation, where she helps create communities of care and supports the transformation of Albertans aging well.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Idaho, she interned at the Department of Treasury in Washington, D.C., before moving to Canada to work, raise a family, and advocate for underserved individuals in the community.
Chair Siddiqui has volunteered with the CIBC Run for the Cure, RCMP Multicultural Committee, Panorama Heights School, Vivo Board of Directors, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Wellspring Alberta.
She is currently also President of the Canadian Association of Police Governance, a national association that facilitates collaboration and learning opportunities for police commissions and boards across the country.
Chair Siddiqui has been a member of the Commission since November 2019.
