Setting priorities for the Calgary Police Service is a one of our key roles as a police commission. This is done each year through the Service preparing an annual policing plan for our input and approval. The plan outlines what will be done in the upcoming year to deliver on the goals set in the four-year business plan and budget that Council approves, as well as any emerging priorities that the police will address.
The 2024 Annual Policing Plan has four key focus areas:
Our People Outcomes:
- Continue to create and sustain workplaces where people are healthy, safe and engaged
- Resource the Service to maximize organizational performance and employee well-being
Our Diversity Outcomes:
- Advance anti-racism commitments
- Progress a culture of accessibility, inclusion and belonging
Our Community Outcomes:
- Foster community safety and well-being
- Build public trust and confidence
Our Performance Outcomes:
- Achieve excellence in service delivery
- Be fiscally responsible while delivering quality service
- Efficient and accessible data (for decision making and transparency)
The full plan and progress reports posted three times a year can be found on the Calgary Police Service’s Community Accountability webpage.
