Councillor Terry Wong was elected to represent Ward 7 in the fall of 2021 and was appointed to the Commission in November 2023.

Councillor Wong previously had a 30-year career in management at The City of Calgary, where he established Calgary’s first GIS-based Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal System to allow The City to provide market value based  property assessments. He also supported a corporate reorganization, the sale of ENMAX, a realignment of corporate IT budgets, the establishment of corporate project management systems, and corporate business planning and budgeting.

Prior to his election, Councillor Wong established and operated a municipal consulting firm. He also led the establishment of the Chinatown Business Improvement Area, where he served as Board Vice-Chair and Executive Director, and volunteered as the President of the Hounsfield Heights Briar Hill Community Association.

Councillor Wong is a second generation Chinese-Canadian and he has been a strong advocate for multi-cultural respect, fighting racism, and building an inclusive community.

He holds Masters Certificates in Project Management and Municipal Leadership from York University.
