Commissioner Pam Karnik was appointed to the Calgary Police Commission in 2021 and brings over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors, most recently working as executive at Telus.

Commissioner Karnik has a proven track record of leading large teams, executing strategic initiatives, solving complex business problems and delivering creative solutions. She is a critical thinker, change agent, thought leader, strong collaborator and a community champion.

With a passion for mentorship, Commissioner Karnik has helped countless new Canadians as a mentor with the Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council, Calgary Immigrant Services and the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association. She currently also sits on the board of the Women in Communications and Technology Alberta Chapter and is a past board member of the Telus Calgary Community Board.

Commissioner Karnik holds a Master of Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Ottawa, and both a Master of Business Administration (Finance) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
